Clinic Policy: Pediatric Foot Care Appointments

For the safety of your child, other patients, and our clinical team, children must be appropriately prepared prior to attending their foot care appointment.

Our practitioners use supportive and age-appropriate communication techniques to help children feel comfortable. However, we are unable to safely perform foot care procedures on children who are combative, physically resistant, or unable to remain reasonably still.

If a child displays behaviours that compromise safety, the appointment may be stopped or rescheduled at the practitioner’s discretion.

Parents/guardians are responsible for:

    •    Preparing their child in advance by explaining the purpose and nature of the visit

    •    Ensuring the child understands they will need to cooperate and keep their feet still

    •    Remaining present (if required) to support their child during the procedure

Please note: Full payment for the scheduled appointment will be due regardless of behaviours that prevent completion of the service. Appointment time is reserved exclusively for your child, and clinical time cannot be reallocated.

If you anticipate that your child may have difficulty tolerating treatment, please contact the clinic prior to the appointment to discuss appropriate options.

Our priority is to provide safe, effective care while maintaining a respectful and secure environment for everyone in the clinic.
